Community Technology Center

ResourceWest was contacted in 2008, by the local library to help create a solution to the increased use and high level of need for computer and internet access. The library did not have the capacity to meet this increasing need. People needed a place to go where they could get free, local assistance looking for work, writing their resumes, and finding affordable housing. We immediately decided we had the space and the potential resources to meet this request.

Through a generous grant of $10,000 from the ADC Foundation, ResourceWest’s Community Technology Center (CTC) opened in January with five computers and free internet access. The Community Technology Center is a space for people to look for jobs, write resumes, learn computer skills, research educational opportunities, look for housing, and much more. The CTC open to the public with no income or residency limitations.

The center is staffed by volunteers who can help with:

  • Resume/cover letter writing
  • Job searching
  • Online job applications
  • Computer skills
  • Researching educational opportunities
  • Housing search
  • Child care search
  • Opening an e-mail account

The Community Technology Center is open:

 Monday: 9a-Noon

 Tuesday: 1p-3p

 Wednesday: closed

 Thursday: 9a-Noon & 1p - 3p

 Friday:closed

These hours vary with the availability of our wonderful volunteers. Please call (952)-988-5350 or stop in for more information.

We are looking for volunteers who would like to help staff the Community Technology Center. If you have time available and are interested in helping people find employment, housing, education opportunities, etc., please contact Rosemaris for a volunteer application and a tour of our office.
